AvtoVAZ aims to produce 401,000 vehicles in 2023
In December, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade announced that the AvtoVAZ Board of Directors approved the company’s production plan for 2023 at the level of 401,000 vehicles, also indicated RIA. AvtoVAZ cuts financially from Renault and Nissan
As a reminder, in the course of 2022, the Renault group sold its majority stake in Avtovaz to the Russian state for a single ruble ($0.0165), but with a six-year buyback option. Offering it the possibility of returning to the Russian market in the future if the context proves favorable. Renault Russia was sold entirely to the city of Moscow, while its 67.7% stake in AvtoVaz, Lada’s parent company, was sold to Nami, the Central Automobile and Engine Research and Development Institute.
This month, the same state institution bought Nissan’s assets for one euro. Which therefore now belong to the public entity NAMI. The brand sold 53,000 cars in Russia in 2021.
AvtoVAZ greatly reduces its wing following the invasion of Ukraine
In the months following the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February, AvtoVAZ reduced its production, at the same time offering some employees voluntary departures. Arguments invoked: lack of components.
Nevertheless, the new management of AvtoVAZ, in turn, announced its intention to resume production of almost the entire model range already in 2023. Now the brand consists of four model families: Vesta, Largus, Granta and Niva.
