Lanfranc Cyrilthe entrepreneur nicknamed the “Putin’s architect“, who has an arrest warrant pending in prison in Italy, has no intention of returning to our country. He declared it himself from Moscow, where he is.
His statements
Lanfranco Cirillo explained to the ‘ANSA’ news agency: “Russia is my home. Here I have my work, my interests and my main relationships. At the moment I have no reason, or even desire, to return to Italygiven the treatment that was reserved for me”.
“I was told that I would not even be able to take a plane to come to Italy, because an Interpol mandate has been issued to me, even a red notice, normally reserved for terrorists and drug traffickers”, Cirillo himself added. .
The entrepreneur continued as follows: “I fail to understand two things. First: what is the use of an Interpol mandate, which as everyone knows is the tool for ‘searching’ for a person in the world, when the Italian judicial authority has no need to search for me because it knows very well that I am in Moscow and knows perfectly the my address. Second: because an Interpol mandate has been requested and, instead, my extradition to Italy is not being requested, through the ordinary procedure established by law, which would make it possible to know what the disputes concerning me are and the documents on which they are based”.
Cyril concluded: “It is a ‘special’ treatmentwhich I find very strange and I don’t understand, but it will be because I’m an architect and not a lawyer”.

The arrest warrant
The arrest warrant for “Putin’s architect” Lanfranco Cirillo was signed by the Brescia Public Prosecutor’s Office as part of an investigation into tax crimes. In recent months, 140 million euros have been seized from the entrepreneur.

The trial against Lanfranco Cirillo will start on February 23, 2023 before the Court of Brescia. For the Italian justice, the entrepreneur Lanfranco Cirillo is on the run.
